Ludvik Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

La Verne senior outfielder Jacob Ludvik was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 8 team in a vote of the district's sports information directors as announced on May 4.

Ludvik will now be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which will be announced later this month. 

A native of Diamond Bar, Calif., Ludvik has maintained a 3.94 cumulative grade point average as a Movement & Sports Science major.

He concluded the regular season with a team-high .405 batting average, which ranked third among conference leaders.  He led the SCIAC in doubles with 17 and was among the league leaders in hits (69, 2nd), runs scored (43, 2nd), total bases (94, 3rd), and runs batted (36, 5th).

Ludvik's efforts helped lead La Verne to the 2012 SCIAC Championship - the 20th league crown in program history - and an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.  He leads the Leos in five offensive categories this season.

A 2011 First Team All-SCIAC selection, Ludvik was selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week (April 2-8) earlier this season.

CoSIDA Academic All-America honors are scheduled to be released on May 30.
