SPOKANE, WA — Evan Gustafson notched his second double-double of the year and Isaiah Knox scored a team-high 14 points, but the Leopards had trouble fending off No. 11 Whitworth falling on the road 115-65.
Knox, a freshman from Corona, was efficient in his performance, going 5-7 from the field in 18 minutes of work off the bench. Knox went a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc.
Gustafson also had a great shooting performance, going 6-7 for 12 points. All of the senior's 11 rebounds came on the defensive end. The Rocklin, CA native is averaging 13 points per game.
Alec Vucinich nearly added his second double-double of the season finishing the game with nine points and nine rebounds to go with a pair of steals and an assist. Jordan Allen finished with seven points.
The Leopards stayed close with the Pirates for most of the opening period, getting to within nine points of Whitworth's lead with 1:25 left in the half after Allen made a pair of free throws. But it was all Whitworth in the second half as the Northwest Conference school outscored the Leopards 71-34 off 69 percent shooting in the second half.
Kyle Roach led the Pirates with 23 points.
The Leopards fall to 1-5 overall and the Pirates improve to 6-1.
The Leopards have a week and a half off before facing off against another Northwest Conference school on December 19. The Leopards will host George Fox in the Tents at 2 p.m.Watch Live Follow ULV Athletics on Twitter Like us on Facebook Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
