Reid, who has been part of numerous Team USA Track and Field staffs for the senior team, joins the junior squad for the first time and will serve as jumps and multis coach for the men's team.

"It's always an honor to be selected to join a national team staff," said Reid. "This is the biggest meet of the summer for USATF. I'm anticipating having a more hands-on presence than with some of the senior national teams, and I'm looking forward to working with some of the top young athletes in the country."

The IAAF World U20 Championships have been conducted every two years since 1986 and features some of the best athletes from around the globe.

The Team USATF staff for the U20 Championships was selected by USATF's Men's and Women's Track & Field Executive Committees and approved by USATF's Board of Directors.

Team USATF has won 21 medals at each of the last two IAAF U20 Championships, in 2014 and 2016, to dominate the medal tables.

Reid, who completed his first season as the head coach at the University of La Verne guiding T.J. Randall to SCIAC Field Athlete of the Year honors, is one of the most respected multi-events coach in the nation. He coached Bryan Clay to a gold medal in the decathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing and a silver medal at Athens 2004. He also has coached in every U.S. Olympic Team Trials since 1992 and every USA Track & Field Championships since 1990.

In addition, Reid has served as head coach three times for the Thorpe Cup, an annual international track and field competition between USA and Germany.
