Chang Leads ULV At SCIAC Multi-Dual
The University of La Verne men’s cross country team competed at the SCIAC Cross Country Multi Dual at Prado Park in Chino Saturday, with junior Jasper Chang leading the way for the Leopards with 15th-place overall finish.
Chang ran the 6,000-meter race with a time of 27:44.87. Sophomore Quentin Haggard finished in 52nd at 29:54.08 and freshman Lance Powell was 59th in 31:12.24. Senior John Skelton followed in 68th with a 32:25.36 time. Occidental runner Kevin Chaves gained first place at 26:22.45, helping his Tigers to a second spot.
La Verne finished eighth overall in the team standings. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps collected seven victories on the day, going 7-0 against the rest of the SCIAC pack. Occidental was 6-1, Pomona-Pitzer went 5-2, Cal Lutheran recorded a 3-4 performance, Caltech finished at 2-5 and Whittier 1-6.
ULV is off until Oct. 27 when they compete in the SCIAC Championships in La Mirada at 9 a.m.
