The La Verne women's swim team used the holiday to enjoy a win over visiting Mills College 166 – 46. The Leo's won 11 of the 13 events had 12 season best times while taking the opportunity to work on some new events for the SCIAC conference championship meet.
Double winners included Senior Sammi Shiomoto (100 free 57.54 100, butterfly 1:02.37), and junior Maddie Lovrensky (100 breststroke 1:13.94, 500 freestyle 5:43.15). Also winning for the Leopards was senior Brandelyn Storms (100 backstroke 1:11.12); junior Melanie Consiglio (200 Freestyle 2:07.02); Sophmores Alexis Smith (200 butterfly 2:39.10); and Kaitlin Wilson (200 Breaststroke 2:54.47). Freshman Krisyln Cha won the 400 IM in 5:07.66.
Overall the event allowed the Leopard women to get their feet wet in some new events, while working hard and racing well.
This Saturday is Senior Day and the last home meet for both the men and women as they take on Chapman at 11:00am at the La Verne Aquatic Center.
