LA VERNE, CA — Brandon Pon led the Leopards with a pair of first place finishes, Sara Bartelt and Lorenzo DeLeon each added wins as the University of La Vern swimming and diving teams competed against Occidental College Saturday morning.
Bartelt scored a win for the Leopards off the boards as the senior took the top spot in the one-meter dive finishing with a total score of 156.60 for the win. DeLeon posted a win in the 200 yard backstroke with a winning time of 2:02.73.
In the distance events, Pon touched first in the 1650 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle. He took the top spot in the 1650 free with a time of 16:53.20 and touched first in the 500 free at 5:00.89.
Rachel Fox finished second in the 200 yard freestyle, clocking in at 2:05.04. The senior added another second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle finishing at 5:37.76. Kayla Yip also earned a second place finish, posting a time of 25.93 in the 50 yard freestyle. Yip also took third in the 200 yard butterfly touching at 2:22.87. CJ Woodward took third in the men's 50 free with a time of 23.19.
In the 100 yard freestyle, junior Roxanna Ramirez-Recinos finished second with a time of 57.86. Kristofer Grigorian finished at 57.86 in the 100 freestyle, good enough for third place. Alondra Camacho scored a third place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke closing in at 2:23.19. Gavin Sato took third in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:35.21.

The Leopards continue SCIAC action next Saturday when they host Pomona-Pitzer and Chapman.
