ULV Takes Part In Pomona-Pitzer All Comers

The University of La Verne women’s track and field team saw action at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers Meet Saturday in Claremont.

Senior thrower Constance Mayaki placed third in the shot put after registering 40 feet, 7 inches, while junior teammate Antoinette Borders took eighth at 37-9 1/2. Mayaki went on to record 10th place with 144-3 in the hammer throw.

Borders also posted an 11th place finish in the discus throw with 124-03, as Bernadette Smith claimed 14th (112-2). Moreover, Jennifer Esparza earned 109-05 feet in the javelin throw, good enough for 12th.

Junior Trenecca Jones led the way in the jumping events, finishing in a four-way tie for ninth place in the high jump at 5-0 1/4.

The Leopards next compete at the SCIAC Multi-Duals hosted by Redlands Saturday at 10 a.m.
