La Verne Drops Home Match to Occidental

The University of La Verne women's water polo team suffered a 15-6 loss against the Tigers of Occidental College in SCIAC action Saturday at the La Verne Aquatics Center.

The Tigers posted seven goals in the first half, holding the Leopards to two goals. La Verne would collect a pair of goals in the third quarter while adding an additional two in the fourth. Oxy continued its momentum from the first half to net eight goals over the final two quarters of play to cap off its nine-goal victory.

La Verne was led offensively by Bethie Ross, who scored three goals in the match.  Maddie Lovrensky, Brianna DiCarlo, and Kelsey Broyles each contributed one goal.

The Leopards continue conference action on Wednesday as they take on the Redlands Bulldogs at 7:00 pm in Redlands.
