Leos Defeat Caltech on Senior Day

The University of La Verne women's water polo team defeated the Caltech Beavers 12-5 in SCIAC action on Saturday morning at the La Verne Aquatics Center

La Verne honored four seniors before the match: Brianna DiCarlo, Brittany Orduno, Erika Vargas and Ashley Forsberg.

The Leopards got an early lead scoring four goals in the first quarter, while holding the Beavers scoreless. Caltech got on the board in the second with two goals. Bethie Ross scored a pair goals for the Leos in the quarter to give them a 6-2 advantage heading into the second half of play.

La Verne would keep the Beavers from scoring in the third quarter while padding their lead with three more goals. In the final quarter both teams would each score three goals resulting in a 12-5 victory for the Leopards.

Ross led the Leopards offense scoring six goals in the match.

La Verne will head to Northridge, CA tomorrow to take on Cal State Northridge at 2:00PM and Cal State San Bernardino at 4:00PM.
