La Verne Finishes 15th At West Regionals
The University of La Verne women's cross country team placed 15th overall at the NCAA Division III West Region Championships held Saturday at Pomona-Pitzer.
La Verne finished with a team total of 386 with a team time of 2:01:32.1 for an average of 24:18.4 on the six-kilometer course. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (39), Willamette (131) and Whittier (142) were the top three teams at the meet.
The Leopards were led by senior Micaela Castillo who placed 43rd overall with a time of 23:12. Junior Katie Barrese finished 63rd, completing the course in 23:42.0. Freshman Andrea Arceo finished 69th in a time of 23:54.0.
Other La Verne competitors included junior Sydney Rose who placed 91st (24:38.3) and Andrea Ramirez who finished 120th (26:05.5).
