Cresencio Gonzalez enters his 26th year at the University of La Verne. He has worn many hats during that time and currently serves as the Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities.

Gonzalez is responsible for maintenance, supervision, and repair of all La Verne athletics facilities. He is also responsible for overseeing student workers and event staff personnel and arranging for adequate personnel for home game operations.

In addition, he serves as an assistant track and field coach, specializing in sprints, jumps, and hurdles.

Prior to transitioning to his current administrative role full time, Gonzalez served as the head men's soccer coach. In 12 seasons, Gonzalez elevated the Leopards to respectability, leading La Verne to a second-place finish in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) in 2005 and in 2008. In 2007 and 2008, La Verne earned a berth in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.

Before taking over as head coach, Gonzalez served as an assistant for the men's and women's soccer teams for three seasons. As an athlete, Gonzalez was a defender for the Azusa Pacific University men's soccer team during the 1984 and 1985 seasons and then went on to earn both his undergraduate and master's degrees from Azusa Pacific.
