REDLANDS, CA — Nicolo Buono led the Leopards with five goals but the University of La Verne men's water polo team couldn't overcome a slow start, falling 19-10 to the University of Redlands.

Jordan Baker scored four times in the games and added a steal and drawn exclusion. David Gutierrez scored the other goal for the Leopards.

Peter Trinh led La Verne with three assists and three drawn exclusions. Jaden Javier assisted on two goals and both Ryan Beery and Sawyer Nering added one assist apiece. 

Eric Bate finished with 12 saves.

The Leopards return home next Saturday to host the Chapman Panthers at 11 a.m.
