LA VERNE, CA — Adan Villarreal has been named Second Team All-SCIAC for men's soccer the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Wednesday.

Villarreal led the Leopards offensively with 11 goals and four assists. His 11 scores tied for second most in the SCIAC.

"I am happy for Adan and it is an award that is well deserved. It is always nice when one of your best players gets recognized by the rest of the league," said University of La Verne men's soccer head coach Trevor Persson.

Villarreal opened the season with a bang, scoring a hatrick in the season opener against Saint John's. He guided the Leopards to a 3-0 start scoring the difference makers against Lakeland and Linfield, and also netted goals in wins over Bethesda, Pomona-Pitzer, and Cal Lutheran.

The Leopards finished the season 6-7-5 overall and 2-6-5 in the SCIAC.
