LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The University of La Verne men's water polo traveled to Burns Arena for the Loyola Marymount water polo tournament. The Leopards faced off in their season openers versus Occidental College and host Loyola Marymount University.
Â
Game 1: The Leopards faced the Tigers in a non-conference matchup. Early turnovers left them trailing the Tigers 4-10 at the half. La Verne made one final push in the fourth quarter in an attempt to overcome the deficit but ultimately fell to the Tigers 9-20.
Peter Trinh (5) and
Jordan Baker (7) rallied the Leopards offense, while
Eric Bates stopped nine attempts from hitting the back of the net.
