LA VERNE, Calif. - The University of La Verne volleyball team hosted the Tigers of Occidental College tonight.
Set one was dominated by Leopard precision play. With only 3 hitting errors, the team hit .480 and the game ended 25-9.
In sharp contrast to the first, the Leopards came in flat in the second set. At 12-12 La Verne settled in and figured it out, advancing the score in their favor. Taking advantage of Tiger errors and Leopard net presence, the Leopards finished the game 25-20.
Set three saw some long rallies, but the Leopards remained in control throughout and never gave the Tigers room to breathe. The final 25-17 set three score and the match went to La Verne.
Extending their undefeated streak to 14-0, notables for the match included
Ayana Mier hitting .588 with 10 kills and zero errors,Â
Noelani Soma who hit .500,
Mya Ray with 9 killls, and
Madison Smith who chipped in 14 digs.
NEXT MATCH: The Leopards will travel to Claremont on Tuesday October 3rd to take on #5 nationally ranked CMS at 7pm.
