La Verne Volleyball Heading to Boston for NCAA Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS — The University of La Verne Volleyball team is heading to Boston. The No. 13 Leopards will travel to host-site MIT for the NCAA Regionals.

The single-elimination tournament begins this Thursday, November 21, and ends on Saturday, November 23. The winner of the eight regionals will advance to the quarterfinal round, which will be hosted in Salem, Virginia, on December 4.

The Leopards, who earned the SCIAC's automatic bid after sweeping Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the SCIAC Tournament, will face Messiah University (24-7) out of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania in the first round. The Falcons made their way to the tournament after winning their first MAC Commonwealth title in school history.

The winner between La Verne and Messiah will face the winner between No. 14 Colby (24-3) and UMass Dartmouth (23-6).

Also in the regional are host No. 4 MIT (31-1), Maine Maritime (18-10), NYU (21-12), and William Smith (22-6).

No. 15 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team and will play in the Emory University regional.
