Men's Soccer Drops Nonconference Game to Sagehens

LA VERNE, CA — The University of La Verne men's soccer team hosted the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens on Wednesday, falling, 3-0 in a non-conference matchup in 3-0 loss.

Sagehens senior midfielder Jefferey Tiglon from Redmond, Washington scored the game's first goal just after the 30-minute mark. Pomona-Pitzer held a 1-0 lead at the break.

The Saeghens added two more goals in the second half off shots by Kyle Lau and Keyon Namdar.

The Leopards had chances throughout the match, rattling off 16 shots in the game including 11 in the first half. La Verne had its first real chance of the game just over five minutes in when a cross rolled just in front of the goal. Alex Singleton narrowly missed tipping the pass in. The Leopards quickly recovered. Alexander Bastidas gathered the ball at the top of the box, shifted past a defender, and unleashed a hard left-footed shot that the diving keeper, Jasper Broad, saved.

La Verne kept the pressure on and again barely missed the back of the net. Following a long clear out, Angel Loza got possession on the right side of the box and sent a pass to an attacking Maximilian De Anda who took a hard shot that was saved again by a diving Broad.

The Leopards' record moves to 1-3 and Pomona-Pitzer improved to 2-1-1
