LOS ANGELES, CA — The University of La Verne men's water polo team opened the 2024 season at the Loyola Marymount Mini Tournament.
The Leopards fell to Loyola Marymount 26-8 and Chapman 18-9.
Tournament Notes
- Peter Trinh led the Leopards with six goals with an assist
- Jordan Baker finished with three goals, three assists, five steals, and three drawn exclusions
- Alam Chang-Barnueveo made his return to La Verne finishing with four goals, two steals, one assist, and a team-high seven drawn exclusions
- Nicolo Buono scored three goals with two steals
- Sawyer Nering totaled three steals, two drawn exclusions, and one assist
- David Gutierrez added one goal, one drawn exclusion, and one steal
- Eric Bates had 15 saves, two assists, and two steals
Next Game
The Leopards next play in the Inland Empire Tournament at Claremont Mckenna's Axelrood Pool. La Verne plays Fresno Pacific at 10:30 a.m. and UC Santa Barbara at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 14. The next day the Leopards will play Cal Baptist at 9:30 a.m. and Ottawa (AZ) at 2 p.m.
