LOS ANGELES, CA - The top-ranked University of La Verne women's volleyball team showed no signs of slowing down on Saturday, rolling to a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-15, 25-19) over Occidental College inside Rush Gymnasium. With the win, the Leopards improved to 16-0 overall and 7-0 in SCIAC play, extending their remarkable unbeaten streak.

La Verne's attack was firing on all cylinders. Mya Ray led the charge with 11 kills on .409 hitting, adding two aces and a pair of block assists to pace the Leopards offensively. Lauren Gott continued her consistent play at the net with eight kills, while Zacky Coaston posted five kills and three blocks, sparking momentum during key stretches of the match. 

Setter Vanessa Marquez efficiently distributed the ball, finishing with 18 assists and seven digs, while Malia Capistrano added nine assists and several key defensive stops. The Leopards kept the Tigers off balance all afternoon, holding them to just a .100 hitting percentage while producing a sharp .299 team efficiency themselves.

From the first serve to match point, La Verne dictated the tempo. The Leopards took control late in each set, closing the opener with a 5-1 run, dominating the second behind strong serving, and sealing the sweep with precision swings from the Ray sisters and Gott in the third.

Unbeaten, unshaken, and unstoppable; La Verne remains the SCIAC's only perfect team and a powerhouse on the national stage.
