ORANGE, CA – The University of La Verne men's water polo team lost 22-12 to the Chapman University Panthers on Wednesday night.
The Leos defense struggled allowing 22 total goals. The Panthers got off to a quick start scoring four times to open up the game. For the next two quarters, the two squads exchanged goals and at halftime, the scoreboard showed 10-6 in favor of Chapman. The second half started the same way the first did, with the Panthers outscoring the Leopards seven to one. The Leos tried to claw back in the match scoring four times in the fourth, but the damage had been done, and the Panthers secured the victory.
Timothy Robles led the Leopards with five goals in the game, a season high for the junior. Josh Lamberton and Jordan Baker also had key performances, combining for three goals and six assists. William Roby-Unkovich walked away with three points after securing two goals and an assist, and Ethan Estephan etched his name into the box score picking up both a goal and an assist.
The Leopards will continue their stretch of road conference games on Saturday Morning when they take on Cal Lutheran University at 11 a.m. in Thousand Oaks.
