The Tournament No. 1 seed University of La Verne volleyball team is set to take on the No. 5 seed University of Redlands Bulldogs tomorrow at 7 p.m. inside the Tents in the SCIAC Tournament Semifinals. Redlands advanced to the semis after beating No. 4 seed Cal Lutheran 3-2 in the first round.
No. 2 seed Claremont-Mudd-Scripps hosts No. 3 seed Whittier College in the other semifinal.
The Leopards (24-1, 15-1 SCIAC) come into the SCIAC Tournament after claiming their first SCIAC Regular Season Championship since 2008 and enter with their best regular season record since the 2001 NCAA Championship squad.
The Leopards are led by three-time All-American
Mya Ray, who broke the program record for kills this season. Ray has been named SCIAC Athlete of the Week three times this season. Joining her is middle blocker
Zacky Coaston, who is on pace to break La Verne's all-time blocks record.
The Bulldogs are the reason for the Leopards' sole blemish on their record after defeating La Verne in five sets last week.
The high remaining seed will host the SCIAC Championship on Saturday, November 15, at 7 p.m.
