XC Closes Season at West Regionals

CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne men's and women's cross country teams rounded out the 2025 season while battling muddy ground and pouring rain at the NCAA West Regionals.

On a course that in some places looked more like a river than a path, the Leopards fought through slips and falls to finish strong.

The men's squad finished in ninth place with just 25 seconds separating the Leopards' top five finishers, and the women's squad took 19th place.

Jocelyn Cruz had a breakthrough race and seemed to embrace the conditions, smiling as she raced through the mud.
