MONTEREY PARK, CA — Freshman Jordan Clarke led the Leopards with a school record, and the University of La Verne swim and dive teams put on a solid showing at the annual La Verne Collegiate Winter Invitational hosted at East Los Angeles College.

Clarke added a highlight to the already impressive start of her La Verne career. The newcomer, who shattered records in high school while competing at Coral Academy of Science in Las Vegas, etched her name in the La Verne history books in the 100 individual medley. She set the new program best during Saturday's prelims, with a time of 1:01.51. The previous record of 1:02.06 set by Mary Hana had stood since the 2018 SCIAC Championships.

Clarke also made the C finals of the 200 breaststroke, ending at 2:33.10. She posted a time of 2:31.97 in the prelims.

The Leopards also had a strong showing in the men's 100 individual medley, with Gabriel Graceffa and Josh Jauregui making the B Final and Milton Gutierrez earning a spot in the C Final. Graceffa finished with a time of 55.91, Jauregui touched at 57.67, and Gutierrez ended at 1:07.26.

Jaden Feliciano made the cut in the C Final of the 500 freestyle, clocking in at 4:57.70.

The Leopards take their winter break and will return to action on January 3 at 11 a.m. at home against Chapman.
