LA VERNE, CA — Mya Ray has been named the SCIAC Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive time after leading the No. 5 University of La Verne volleyball team to one of its biggest regular-season weekends in program history.

The Leopards defeated No. 3 UW-Oshkosh, No. 8 Hope College, and RV University of Chicago. Ray finished the week with 60 kills, six aces, 38 digs, six blocks, and four assists. She led the Leopards from down 2-0 to beat UW-Oshkosh 3-2 with 24 kills. In that game, she became La Verne's all-time kills leader with 1,531 kills and counting. She added 24 kills and 15 digs against Hope and finished with 12 kills vs Chicago.

The undefeated Leopards (9-0) open SCIAC play on Friday, September 26 at 7 p.m. at Whittier College.
