LA VERNE, CA - Senior outside hitter Mya Ray has been honored as the AVCA Division III Women's Player of the Week, following a week in which she both set a school record and led the Leopards to two wins over ranked opponents.

Ray broke the University of La Verne's all-time kills record, now reaching 1,530 career kills, surpassing Brittany Yaxley's previous mark of 1,487. Her standout performance came in high-stakes matches, as La Verne defeated No. 3 UW–Oshkosh (coming from 2-0 down in sets) and No. 8 Hope College. Over the week, she posted 60 kills, six aces, 38 digs, and six blocks anchoring the offense in each match.

Her contributions were central not only to individual achievement but to the Leopards' continued undefeated season and growing national recognition.
