LOS ANGELES — The Leopards and Tigers headed to the fourth quarter tied, but Occidental outscored the University of La Verne women's water polo team 4-1 in the final frame to come away with a 12-9 win.

Brooklyn Young led the Leopards with three goals and an assist off four shots and drew two exclusions. Young has notched three hat-tricks this season.

Dottie Barrera finished with two goals. Kaitalin Smith led the Leopards with three assists and scored once. 

Trailing 6-4 to start the second half, the Leopards came out of the break fast, with Coss and Barrera each scoring within the first two minutes. Young fired two goals in the final 2:20 of the third to even the game 8-8.

Ally Ratto and Madison Coss notched one goal and one assist apiece, and Maya De Guzman tallied one goal.

Miranda Graham finished with eight saves and two steals.

Three Tigers finished with three goals each.
