Game Recap: Women's Water Polo | | Thomas Kosakowski

Leopard Can't Survive Panthers' Offensive Attack

ORANGE, CA — Brooklyn Young netted two goals as the University of La Verne women's water polo team came up short against the Chapman University Panthers by a final of 13-5.

Young also had two assists and a drawn exclusion to round out her afternoon. Maya De Guzman was also solid, picking up a goal and two steals. Madison Coss recorded a goal, and Anika Nichols finished with an assist.

The Leos fought hard early when Young tied it early in the first, and Coss brought them within one in the second. De Guzman and Nichols both scored in the third, but a run of six straight Panther goals over 9:30 allowed Chapman to secure the win.

Miranda Graham was stellar in goal, tying her season-high with 13 saves and notching two steals.

The Leopards will continue their conference slate back at Las Flores Park when they take on Occidental College on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Leopards will be celebrating their seniors in a brief postgame ceremony.
