LaRue, Bond, and Harrison Claim All-SCIAC Awards

LA VERNE, CA – University of La Verne track and field athletes Hunter Bond, Harrison Brown, and Ryleigh LaRue have been named First-Time All-SCIAC for their outstanding 2026 season and their top-3 finishes at SCIAC Champships.

Bond, a senior from Rancho Cucamonga, had an incredible season competing for La Verne. At SCIAC Champs, hosted by the University of Redlands, the decathlete scored a whopping 6,203 points for a new personal record and the third best showing in program history. Bond placed in the top three in every single event, earning him second place overall. His best finish was in discus throw, where he finished first with a throw measuring 33.91 meters. Bond was recently named the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year at the 2026 La Verne Senior Blanket Awards.

Brown is early in career and already setting a standard as a Leo. The sophomore hurdler from San Francisco made waves at SCIAC Championships by winning the preliminary 400 Hurdles, with a time of 55.92. He then cut 0.49 seconds off his time and ran a 55.43 in the finals, earning him second place.

LaRue has been a successful cross country and track and field runner for the University of La Verne. The Azusa native has run eight events this season, but her 800 meter is what stole the show. LaRue won her preliminary race with a time of 2:19.69. She then ran almost three seconds faster, with a time of 2:16.92, and finished in second in the finals.
