Mike Ditta

Mike Ditta joined the University of La Verne men’s soccer staff prior to the 2024 season. 

Ditta comes to La Verne from Pomona-Pitzer where he served as the men’s soccer Interim Head Coach during the 2023 season while the head coach was on sabbatical. Previously, Ditta served on the Sagehens staff from 2017-2022 as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. 

Before his tenure with Pomona-Pitzer, Ditta coached at the NCAA Division I level as the assistant men’s soccer coach at UC Irvine from 2009-2016. He began his collegiate coaching career as the men’s soccer Associate Head Coach at Santiago Community College during the 2008 season.

In addition to his collegiate coaching career, Ditta has a wealth of experience coaching at the youth club level. In 2006 he received his USSF National A License and was the Youth Director of Coaching for the Pateadores Soccer Club where he coached for over 20 years. 

Ditta played collegiately at Azusa Pacific University and professionally with the local professional soccer club LA Salsa’s reserve team the LA Cobras in 1993 and 1994. 

A native of Riverside, Ditta earned his BA degree in Sociology from Azusa Pacific University and received his MS degree from National University in Education Administration as he pursued a career in education after finishing his undergrad.

Ditta resides in Riverside with his wife Alana, an elementary school teacher, daughter Maddie, who recently started her 3rd season of college soccer at the University of Montana, and Theodore his German shorthaired pointer.
