Coach Brianna Valencia is the Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach for the University of La Verne Women's Soccer program, where she plays a vital role in recruiting, player development, training, scouting, and the overall success of the program. Dedicated to fostering a competitive and supportive environment, she is committed to developing student-athletes both on the field and in their next phases of life.
She began her collegiate coaching career as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the University of La Verne Women's Soccer program while earning her Master's degree in Leadership and Management with a concentration in Organizational Development. Her graduate studies strengthened her expertise in leadership, communication, team culture, and organizational effectiveness, all of which shape her coaching philosophy.
Before joining the collegiate ranks full-time, Valencia spent five years coaching with Legends FC, one of Southern California's premier youth soccer clubs. There, she coached high level athletes across multiple age groups, emphasizing technical development, tactical awareness, and preparing athletes to compete at the collegiate level.
As a player, Valencia competed at the NCAA Division II level at the University of Hawai?i at Hilo, where she started every match during her senior season after earning 15 starts as a junior. She was an integral member of defensive units that consistently ranked among the conference's best while earning PacWest Scholar-Athlete and All-PacWest Academic Team honors. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Medicine and Therapy.
Prior to Hawai'i Hilo, Valencia competed at Missouri Southern State University before transferring to continue her collegiate career. A native of Riverside, California, she graduated from Martin Luther King High School and played club soccer for Legends FC and Arsenal ECNL, experiences that provided a strong foundation for her transition into coaching.
Drawing on her experiences as a collegiate student-athlete, youth club coach, recruiter, and collegiate coach, Valencia is passionate about creating an environment where student-athletes can thrive academically, athletically, and personally while helping build a championship-caliber women's soccer program.
