Jeff Hendershot

Jeff Hendershot was named the University of La Verne Head Volleyball Coach in the spring of 2020 after spending a season as the Leopards' interim head coach. The 2025 season will be Hendershot's fifteenth season overall with the Leopards.

Since taking over as the Leopards’ head coach he has led La Verne to its two best seasons in over a decade, culminating in back-to-back appearances in the Sweet 16 in 2023 and 2024.

In 2024, La Verne finished the season with a 26-6 record, an NCAA Regional Championship, advanced to the Elite 8, and captured the program's first-ever SCIAC Tournament Championship, marking their best finish since 2009 when they were national runners-up.

In his five years under Hendershot’s leadership, the Leopards have earned five All-American, seven All-Region, nine All-SCIAC, six First Team All-SCIAC, one Region 10 Player of the Year, and one SCIAC Athlete of the Year Honors. Additionally, Hendershot and staff received the 2023 SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year award.

Under Hendershot's tutelage, Mya Ray has emerged as one of the best athletes in the history of the University of La Verne. Ray is a three-time All-American, two-time first-team All-American, and the SCIAC and Region 10 Athlete of the Year among other numerous accolades.

He joined the La Verne staff in 2011 as the First Assistant Coach and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2017. While on the staff, he was a part of La Verne's NCAA Tournament runs in 2012, 2014, and 2016.

Hendershot spent the 2013-2014 season as the first assistant coach for the NCAA Division I University of the Pacific's men's team, for the program's final year of sponsorship.

Before 2010, Hendershot played collegiately at the University of the Pacific, where he was a four-year letter winner. As a senior, he started in 20 matches and led the Tiger volleyball squad in kills with 256.

An alumnus of Claremont High School, Hendershot was a three-year letter winner with the Wolfpack. He is currently the 18-One head coach at Forza 1 North Volleyball Club located in Ontario, CA.

He and his wife Sarine Dadourian have two children, Amelia and Alex.
