Matt De Avila graduated from the University of La Verne with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Health and Human Performance in 2023. In his senior year, he began interning for Coach Durant and officially joined the Sports Performance and Conditioning team as a Graduate Assistant in the Fall 2023. De Avila is pursuing his master’s in leadership and development with an emphasis in Organizational Development. He trains La Verne Track and Field, Swim and Dive, Men and Women's Water Polo, Men and Women's Golf and is an Assistant Football Coach.
Outside of La Verne, he has interned for USC Olympic Sports Performance where he worked with Men's water polo, Women's soccer and Swim and Dive. He holds his certification in USAW Level 1.
