Dr. Randi Taylor-Toomay joined the University of La Verne volleyball coaching staff in 2019 and is a dedicated Leopard in a way few can claim. She has been at the university of La Verne as a undergraduate, athlete, graduate student, doctoral student, coach, adjunct professor, and full-time faculty member.

She has been an integral part of the Leopards' staff and has helped continue the volleyball team's legacy of success. The Leopards reached the Sweet 16 in 2023, won a regional title and appeared in the Elite 8 in 2024, and claimed their first ever SCIAC Postseason Tournament title in 2024. Taylor-Toomay and the rest of the La Verne volleyball staff were named the 2023 SCIAC Volleyball Coaching Staff of the Year.

Taylor-Toomay had a decorated career with the Leopards, earning AVCA All-American and All-West Region honors as well as First Team All-SCIAC recognition her senior season. In 2012 she finished the season ranked sixth nationally in kills per set. Taylor-Toomay helped lead the Leopards to an NCAA Sweet 16 berth in 2009 and a NCAA West Region semifinals appearance in 2009. She ranks sixth all-time in kills at La Verne with 1,271. In 2009 she was a gold medalist at the 18 open and a USAV Junior National Qualifier.

Taylor-Toomay led the Diamond Ranch High School girl's varsity volleyball team from 2013-18 and the boy's varsity team from 2015-17 accumulating an overall winning percentage of .736. After taking over a 3-21 squad, Taylor-Toomay led the girl's team to a massive turnaround, finishing the season with a 12-12 record. She led the Panthers to a Hacienda League Championship in 2015 and second place finishes in 2014, 2016, and 2018. She saw 26 of her athletes earn First Team All-Hacienda League honors. Her squads earned five CIF Playoff appearances in six seasons.

Away from the court, she is a an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at La Verne's La Fetra College of Education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies in 2013, attained her California Single Subject Teaching Credential in 2015, earned her Master of Education with a Special Emphasis in Physical Education in 2016, and earned her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership.
