PASADENA, CA — The University of La Verne volleyball team traveled to Caltech on Wednesday and earned a 3-0 (25-20, 25-28, 25-12) win to complete a season sweep of the Beavers.

Madison Smith reached a major milestone in the game, recording 12 digs to surpass 1000 career digs. Smith added six assists in the win.
Mya Ray had another big game recording a game-high 18 kills to bring her season-leading SCIAC total to 298 kills.

Noelani Soma showcased their defensive skills each posting three key blocks.Â
The Beavers played tough in the first set and took a 14-12 advantage to threaten the Leopards early. But La Verne responded and closed out the set on a 13-6 run to take the 1-0 lead. It was a similar story in the second set with La Verne holding on to a slim 13-12 lead but La Verne again rallied sparked by a pair of kills from
Lauren Gott to pull away from Caltech.
Lauren Gott also contributed 11 kills,
Malia Capistrano dished out 38 assists, and
Kiley McGarry totaled four aces. The Leopards will host Chapman University, on Friday, October 20th at 7 P.M.
