Men's Soccer Holds Strong in Tie at CMS

CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne men's soccer team took a short trip to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Wednesday night and left with a point after tying the Stags 1-1.

Trailing 1-0 after the Stags took the lead late in the first half, the Leopards had less than three minutes remaining to score the equalizer. Owen Osagiede crossed a pass from outside the box and found Nathan Garcia at the far post, who poked the ball through to tie the game.

Adan Villarreal also provided some offensive pressure with two shots on goal in the game. Logan Reese made three crucial saves, including one just minutes before Garcia's goal, to give La Verne a shot late.

Season Impact: La Verne moves to 0-3-3 in conference play and 4-4-3 overall while the Stags go to 2-2-2 in the SCIAC and 4-2-3 overall.

Next Game: The Leopards will take on Pomona-Pitzer at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 7th.
