Football Wraps Up Season at Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, CA — The University of La Verne football team concluded its 2024 campaign, falling on the road to Cal Lutheran 38-14. 

Bradley Kenny got the start under center and finished with 192 yards and two total touchdowns. He ran for a five-yard score at the end of the first half and connected with Isaiah McNaught-Thorton on a 23-yard score to start the second half. 

Jimmy Rumsey hauled in four catches for 92 yards and a long of 38. Rumsey finished the season with 828 receiving yards, seven touchdown receptions, 46 receptions, 5.1 receptions per game, and 82.2 yards per game, ranking him in the top five in the SCIAC in all categories. 

Makena Ramos-Kamaka finished the year with 446 receiving yards, 39 receptions, 3.9 receptions per game, and 44.6 receiving yards per game, all in the top six in the conference. McNaught's 50.8 yards per game, rank fourth in the SCIAC.

De Lante' Moore and Vicente Zepeda each racked up 12 tackles. Moore added a sack and Zepeda picked off a pass in the end zone to prevent a Kingsmen score. Zepeda led the SCIAC with 97 total tackles and Moore ranked third with 86. 

Justin Mondini intercepted a pass in the second quarter, the first pick of his career.

The Kingsmen found the end zone on their first two possessions and forced a turnover on downs and two interceptions on La Verne's first three possessions. The Leopards couldn't recover. 

La Verne finishes the season 0-10 overall and 0-7 in the SCIAC.
