Men's Basketball Opens SCIAC Play at CMS

CLAREMONT, CA — The University of La Verne Men's Basketball team faced a challenging non-conference match against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at Roberts Pavilion, falling 94-67. 

Despite the loss, standout performances showcased the Leopards' determination and potential.

Senior guard Dahmaj Warren led the Leopards with 27 points including four three-pointers, while graduate student forward Paul Antonis contributed 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Joshua Rook also made a strong contribution with 10 points, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, highlighting the team's offensive efforts.

CMS capitalized on dominant inside play, scoring 62 points in the paint. AJ Rohosy led the Stags with 33 points and 18 rebounds, supported by Neil Owens' 20 points.

La Verne showed promise in the first half, trailing just 44-32 at the break. However, CMS extended its lead with a commanding 64.5 percent shooting performance in the second half. The Leopards struggled with turnovers, which the Stags converted into 17 points.

The Leopards will aim to bounce back as they take on UC San Diego in their matchup on Saturday, November 30, at 1 p.m. in La Jolla, CA.
