LA VERNE, CA — University of La Verne Director of Athletics Dr. Jenna Panatier has announced the resignation of Pat Beemer as head men's and women's water polo coach.

"We would like to express our gratitude to Coach Beemer for his dedication and commitment to the Leopard water polo programs. His efforts and passion for the teams have been invaluable, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors, said Panatier.

Beemer joined the University of La Verne before the 2017 season and coached 20 All-American selections, 15 All-SCIAC recipients, and three SCIAC Newcomer of the Year winners.

He guided one of the most decorated athletes in La Verne history, six-time All-American and five-time First Team All-SCIAC selection Jassmine Kezman. He led the La Verne women's squad to the 2023 and 2019 SCIAC Tournament.

"I'll forever cherish my time at La Verne and I know I'll always be a part of the Leo family," said Beemer. "A huge thanks to the student-athletes on both the men's and the women's water polo teams. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication made going to work a pleasure. I look forward to cheering them on in upcoming seasons. A special thanks to the entire athletics staff for their years of support and camaraderie."

The University of La Verne is finalizing details regarding the next steps in the hiring process for this position.
