LA VERNE, CA — Mya Ray has been named SCIAC Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Monday. 

Mya Ray had another outstanding week for the Leopards. She led La Verne against No. 3 UW Whitewater, No. 9 Washington University, and RV Cornell (IA). Ray finished with 49 kills, 31 digs, eight blocks, and two aces. She posted her best game against WashU, finishing with 24 kills and a .420 hitting percentage.

Ray previously earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Leopards to an undefeated performance at the Pacific Coast Classic.

The Leopards have earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors every week they've competed this season. Zacky Coaston earned SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors after the Leopards went 3-0 at the Whittier Invitational.

La Verne opens SCIAC play this Friday at home against Caltech at 7 p.m.
