LA VERNE, CA — The University of La Verne men's and women's swim and diving teams celebrated Senior Day Saturday and posted several lifetime bests in a dual meet against the Whittier College Poets.
Team Scores
Men: L, 166-71
Women: L, 148-83
Keilani Greer led the Leopards with wins in the 200 butterfly and 100 freestyle. She pulled away early in the 200 fly and came from behind in the 50 yards of the 100 to just beat the competition. Neve Dagdagan earned a win in the 100 freestyle, edging out Whittier by over six seconds.
Josh Jauregul led from start to finish on the way to a win in the 200 backstroke. Jedida Alvarez touched just ahead of teammate Lily Florez to win the 100 butterfly.
From the Coach:
"The women swam awesomely. To a person, they had season-best swims in all their events. They stepped up and did new events they had not swam before and did them exceptionally," said University of La Verne Swimming and Diving Head Coach Pat Skehan.
"Keilani, Neve, and Lindsey were solid as usual but Sara Dawidian; Lily, and Jedida took huge leaps to help us compete with Whittier. The men also took some big steps and risks. Shaun, Jaden Jaden, and Gabe Graceffa were solid and improved. I think Nathan West's improvement especially in the 200 IM was the best growth on the men's side."
