Leopards Fall to CMS, 21-7

Claremont, CA – The University of La Verne men's water polo teams dropped a battle against the CMS Stags on Saturday morning by a final of 21-7.

The Leopards offense was quiet, only scoring seven times in the loss. After CMS scored the first four goals to open the scoring, the Leos then scored five of their own in the first half to keep it a three goal deficit. But the second half was all Stags. They went on to score 14 of the last 16 goals which included two separate runs of six and five goals in a row to secure the win.

Jordan Baker and Josh Lamberton had solid performances despite the loss. Baker scored twice while Lamberton netted three of his own. Richard Montanez had some key moments as he finished with a goal and an assist while recording a season high in shots.

Up next, the Leopards will continue conference play against Chapman in Orange, CA on October 15th at 7 p.m.
