ORANGE, CA – The University of La Verne women's soccer team finished off their season with an impressive 2-2 tie against the Chapman Panthers. The Leopards were looking to end their SCIAC play with a positive result, and did just that on Saturday.
The first half was a battle; both teams looked competitive. The Panthers scored fourteen minutes in, making the score 1-0.
Kailey Kolesar had multiple shots on goal, pushing pressure onto the Panthers.
The second-half action was intense. The Panthers scored ten minutes into the second half and the Leopards then turned on the gas. Just two minutes later,
Sofia Chiovare found the net. Chiovare has been a powerhouse for La Verne; this is her second goal of the season. Her first one was scored on senior night against Caltech. Twenty minutes later,
Laney Cutler joined Chiovare in the goal-scoring club. Cutler is an integral part of La Verne's offense and this goal came right in time for the Leos.
Katy Beck grabbed up four saves in goal for La Verne.
The Leopards end their season 2-11-5 overall and 2-6-4 in the SCIAC.
