LA VERNE, CA — The No. 1 ranked University of La Verne Leopards Volleyball team stayed flawless on Friday night, sweeping the Caltech Beavers in a dominant 3-0 performance.

Malia Capistrano each picked up seven digs while Capistrano assisted on 13 plays as well.
The Leopards came out firing in the first set, hitting an impressive .577 with 16 kills and closing it out with 10 straight points to take a 25-10 win.
La Verne kept the momentum rolling in the second set, swinging .444 with 14 kills while holding Caltech to a .250 hitting percentage to take set two, 25-17.
Set three saw a tighter battle, tied at 12-12 midway through, but the Leopards rallied for eight straight points to pull ahead and finish strong with a 25-21 win to complete the sweep.
The Leopards stand as one of two undefeated teams in the country (East Texas Baptist, 27-0) will look to remain perfect when they take on the Redlands Bulldogs at 7 p.m. this Tuesday at Currier Gym.
