Clarke Leads Swim and Dive at Mt. SAC

WALNUT, CA — Jordan Clarke had an outstanding meet as the University of La Verne swim and dive teams competed in a dual meet against Mt. SAC.

Clarke, a freshman, led the Leopards with three individual wins and swam a key leg in a relay win. She won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.81) in the fourth fastest time in La Verne history. She also won the 50 breaststroke in (32.67) and took another tick off the second fastest time in La Verne history on her way to a win in the 100 IM (1:02.52). She swam the second leg in the Leopards' win in the 200 medley relay (1:58.75) along with Neve Dagdagan, Lily Florez, and Delaney Morris.

Dagdagan and Florez each added individual wins. Dagdagan took first in the 50 backstroke (29.55), and Florez won the 50 butterfly (29.55).

Freshman Sydney Yamamoto led a Leopard sweep in the 500 freestyle (5:52.80) with senior Kelly Long (6:16.90) and freshman Ellie Dees (6:28.17) following in second and third.

The women's squad won eight of the 14 events contested.

Jaden Feliciano led the Leopards' men's squad with a win in the 500 freestyle (5:15.91). Milton Gutierrez did well in his debut off the boards, scoring 81.90.

"This was another step in the right direction as we get closer to SCIAC duals, especially considering how hard the training has been. I was really pleased that our team took charge and were not intimidated by a quality Mt. SAC team," said head coach Pat Skehan.

The Leopards are back in action on Friday, November 7, at 1:30 p.m. when they travel to Redlands.
