No. 1 Leopards Win SCIAC Regular Season Championship

ORANGE, CA — The Leopards are SCIAC Champions.

The No. 1 ranked University of La Verne volleyball team sealed the 2025 SCIAC regular-season title with a sweep at Chapman to end the regular season. The title is the Leopards' first regular-season championship since 2008. Last year, the Leopards won their first SCIAC Tournament Championship in program history.

The Leopards end the regular season with a 24-1 overall record and 15-1 in SCIAC play. It is the best regular-season finish since the 2001 squad ended the regular season with just one loss. That squad went on to claim the program's third national championship.

The Leopards now head to the SCIAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed, where they wait for the first round winner between No. 4 seed Cal Lutheran and No. 5 seed Redlands. La Verne will host the SCIAC Semifinal matchup on Thursday, November 13, at 7 p.m.

Four-time SCIAC Athlete of the Week Mya Ray led the Leopards in the win with 17 kills, four blocks, two aces, and eight digs.

Zacky Coaston reached a personal milestone. She finished with five blocks, which puts her at second-most in La Verne history with 385 blocks. The junior needs just 12 more blocks to set the program record. She also added seven kills.

Malia Capistrano finished with 15 assists and a game-high three aces. Keilani Mumolo led La Verne with 12 digs and added five assists. Vanessa Marquez posted 20 assists. Lauren Gott totalled 11 kills. Abigail Montana tallied five blocks.
