LOS ANGELES, CA — The University of La Verne women's track and field team continued to impress, break into the program's top-10 list, and set new personal records at the prestigious Oxy Distance Classic.

Madison Bravo led the way with a personal record in the 10K (39:28.10), placing herself at No. 5 on the La Verne top-10 list. She also set an unofficial personal best at the 5K mark during her outstanding 10K outing and took ninth overall.

Peyton Carrera ran the ninth fastest time in the program history in the 800m with a PR of 2:22.93.

Emily Hernandez took sixth overall in the javelin with a throw of 27.81m (91' 3").

Ryleigh LaRue set a personal record in the 1500m by two seconds, 5:02.06. Newcomer Jasmine Prajitno set a new best personal distance in the triple jump 10.50m (34' 5.5").

Two Leopards set records in the hammer throw with throws from Journee Jones, 33.17m (108' 10") and Madison Xie, 29.95m (98' 3").

Jaila Counts led La Verne in the sprints with a personal record of 14.51 in the 100m.

"It was a long, but productive day both on the track and in the field for the Leopards. With the field events starting at 9:00 a.m. and the running events concluding on the track at 10:00 p.m., the Leopards enjoyed a great So Cal day of track and field.  With a total of 13 Personal Bests (6 for the Men and 7 for the Women) we continue to build momentum towards championships season throughout the month of April."
