LA VERNE, CA — Three Leopards finished in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the University of La Verne women's basketball team fell in the season finale to Pomona-Pitzer 65-56 Saturday night.

Alyssa Smith led the Leopards with 18 points, added seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal. She ends the season leading the SCIAC with 18.5 points per game and 278 total points in SCIAC games, and 17.1 points per game and 410 total points in all contests. She also led the conference with 168 rebounds and averaged 11.2 rebounds per game, good for third in the SCIAC. She ranked in the top five in three-pointers per game, made three-pointers, and finished in the top 10 in field goal percentage. The junior finished in double-figures in 22 games and recorded 12 double-doubles. She ranks third in La Verne history with 703 rebounds.

Isabella Gray-Musolff and Kaylee Shimoda scored 13 points apiece. Gray-Musolff grabbed four rebounds, and Shimoda knocked down three three-pointers. 

Maya Sanborn finished with six rebounds and four points, Jasmine Parjitno added five boards and four points.

Niani Shields returned from injury and opened the game with a bucket.
