Rachel Rubio, alumna and former Leopard student-athlete, joins the University of La Verne as a sports information graduate assistant after serving as the softball graduate assistant last this season.
Rubio's exceptional skills and determination earned her notable recognition and honors during her playing years. In both the 2022 and 2023 seasons, she was honored with First Team All-SCIAC distinctions. Rubio was recognized for her exceptional pitching abilities with multiple SCIAC Pitcher of the Week awards. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology, Rubio excelled academically and athletically, setting a strong foundation for her coaching career.
In her senior year, she finished with an impressive 101 strikeouts and set a career-high with 12 strikeouts in a single game. She made a considerable impact on the field with an era of 2.37 and consistently displayed precision and control.
She is pursuing a Master's in Leadership and Management with a concentration in Human Resources. Rubio has ambitions of entering the field of human resource management post-graduation.
