CHINO HILLS, CA — The University of La Verne women's golf team closed out its fall season against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, falling to the Athenas, 304-424 at Los Serranos Golf Club.
"We were able to take all players to the CMS invitational, so that was important for some players to get quality tournament experience," said La Verne head women's golf coach Trevor Persson.
Jordyn Janert led the Leopards with a 72, just four strokes shy of overall leader Stella Cheng from CMS, and
Alexis Aguilera followed next with an 80.Â
Taylor Ward (83) and Joshlyn Lopez (85) rounded out the scoring.
Nicole Siy shot a 91 and Kayle Perdomo, who was competing as an individual, also shot 91.
"This event was our final one before we have a short break and return to play in February. I'm proud of where we are individually and as a team. We made some big improvements and look forward to the spring season," said Persson.
The Leopards return from their layoff on February 14 at SCIAC No.1 hosted at Costa Mesa Country Club.
