Women's Cross Country Finishes Season Strong at Regionals

ESTACADA, OR — The University of La Verne women's cross country team completed the 2024 season at the NCAA West Regionals, taking 17th place.

La Verne's 1-5 spread was a season's best 1:39. Marissa Hehir paced La Verne with a 55th place finish and time of 22:59. Ryleigh LaRue followed with a lifetime best time of 23:48.

Lizbeth Garcia finished at 24:11. Peyton Carrera (24:11), Ashley Kodama (24:38), Madison Bravo (24:45), and Jenna Schwarz (25:46) added to the Leopards' times. Carrera and Schwarz both recorded personal bests.

"It was a very good day. All seven women had strong/clutch performances at a championship race. I'm super proud of the team effort from both squads. I'm confident this will become a defining characteristic of La Verne cross country in the years to come," said La Verne cross country head coach Rob Lander.
